Threads App Development Underway – Details Inside
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, revealed on Saturday that the company has intentions to develop an application programming interface (API) for Threads.
This will help developers create different apps and experiences around Threads, TechCrunch reported.
“We’re working on it. I’m concerned that it means a lot more content from publishers and not a lot more content from creators, but it still looks like we need to do something,” Mosseri said in an Instagram post.

Recently, Meta reported that Threads has reached 100 million monthly active users. The API and third-party app ecosystem may not drive that number forward, but they do give people ways to explore the web in alternative ways.
Mark Zuckerberg launched Threads in July as a Twitter competitor. However, a few weeks after launch there were reports that Threads lost more than half of its subscribers.
